Guest guest
Where can I get the link of the journal article that says NO GLUCOSE TESTING. The link from this site isnt working on my computer. Can any email it to me as an attachment? CoastalCounseling@... My doc has me set up for the 1 hour 50 gram test this week even though my husband and I protested. I want to fax him the info. Is he liable if I provide the documentation, he says the test is necessary AND I get very ill?? Im still worrying about it.
Guest guest
I would just tell the Dr. you're not taking the test -- period! If he continues to protest, you're early enough to find another Dr. who'll be more understanding of your needs and concerns. Good luck! Diane Woodring ============================================================= Moderator note: Your OB can NOT make you take, drink, eat, or do ANYTHING against your will. It's assault/battery/intent to harm (something of that negal nature). I would tell him that you belong to a support group and the otehr 1,600+ OB's said it was an invalid test to be taken by a gastric bypass patient. There are other tests he can do. Have him call your WLS surgeon, with tail between legs and ask what else can he do to give him the same results. The only thing he can do is tell you he no longer wants you as a patient b/c you are being non-compliant. Who cares? Fina another one. They're a dime a dozen most places! My OB had be fast, had blood drawn, eat a balanced breakfast then was restuck 2 hrs after eating. Level was 110 which he said was borderlinge hi (I disagree of course). lol In any case, no one can MAKE you do anything..... except have this baby out of one of two holes. *wink*
