My doctor didnt suggest this before pregnancy, but then I wasnt

planning on getting pregnant when I did. They did however suggest it

after I found out I was expecting. They wanted me to be prepared for

anything. Much like you, the results wouldnt have changed anything

for me so I choose not to have the test. Good Luck!
