Guest guest
So I found this group last week and joined the local chapter of it in my area. In that week I have been given an almost new crib, a really cute changing table, tons of baby clothes and even some diapers. So I thought I would share it...maybe it can help someone else also. http://www.freecycle.org/?PHPSESSID=2a99280823ea084399299e4a6104ccbb It's a grassroots movement of people who are giving ( & getting) stuff for free in their own towns. Each local group is run by a local volunteer moderator (them's good people). The Freecycle Network is nonprofit organization whose mission includes keeping good stuff out of landfills and helping strengthen local gifting & recycling communities. The Freecycle Network was founded in May 2003 to promote waste reduction in Tucson, Arizona and, in doing so, help save desert landscape from being taken over by landfills. It has since grown a bit to encompass nearly 30 countries and hundreds of thousands of " freecyclers " across the globe. Freecycle provides individuals and non-profits an electronic forum to " recycle " unwanted items. One person's trash can truly be another's treasure! Let me know what you think of it ladies and if it helps ya at all. I know it did me, we just did not have the money to buy baby stuff. jennifergray04@... Guest guest
We LOVE Freecycle.... I give away stuff and get stuff all the time. NO sense in spending $100 on a swing if you don't know your baby will like it... some HATE them.. If you are outdoors type people.. it is always nice to have an " extra " pack n play... just for " outside " ... for BBQ's.. picnics... the Beach... or even the park with older toddlers. I got a bouncy seat thru Freecycle... and Jonah hates it... so glad I didn't spend $30 on one.. Now I will just clean it up and pass it along. ****************************************************************************** ******* K in Ft Lauderdale mommy to: Noah - officially 2!
