Baby boy due 2/17/05-Shanndon original wt. 342/current wt. 206/goal wt. 140 Emergency room Sat Ovarian Cyst, Bleed in the placenta All starting again Hello Eeryone, Yesterday I spent the day in the Emergency room, I started bleeding yesterday morning ( about the same time of the pregnancy I started with the last one just one week earlier )They did an exam and a pretty long ultrasound vag and regular, I knew i had been having pain in intercourse and complained to my previous OBGYN about it with no answer to why I was ( I am with a new OBGYN Now) . They found a viable fetus little peanuts heart was beating 163 beats per min normal for 8 week fetus. They also found a Ovarian Cyst and a bleed in my placenta which they said could be nothing or it could be what happened previously the placenta came loose and I lost the baby, They put me on bed rest and plenty of fluids and they called my OB and explained to them and I am to call them Monday Morning for follow up action. I have not even told my children about the pregnancy but I had to tell them I had to stay in Bed, well I told them I had a Cyst on my ovaries that it was nothing to be scared of just a little sore inside and mommy has to take it easy and see what the Dr wants to do Monday , they took that and are OK with it, is taking this a little hard since this would be our 2nd lost baby together if it does not make it. ( he and his ex lost 1 and me and my ex lost 1 so this would each be our third) Well I took a break from the couch to sit and check into these things on line and thought I would drop a note. I am not sure what either of these things really are is a bleed in the placenta the start of placenta previa? thats all I get when I look it up. And the Cyst scares the Heck out of me , women in my family seem to be prone to problems with their repro organs etc... Seems though cysts can be just a normal harmless thing but when your pregnant and you just lost a baby 4 months ago anything freaks you out. Talk to you all soon Going to go lay down some more and hopefully keep that baby in! Guest guest
More often than not, although painful, cysts are harmless... I've had two painful ones that eventually disolved on their own. You're right, tho, when you say that any reproductive things that happen when you are pregnant are scary. Prayers are with you that all will be fine and that your little peanut will continue to grow healthy. Toi .... I am not sure what > either of these things really are is a bleed in the placenta the > start of placenta previa? thats all I get when I look it up. Hi Jenni, hang in there! I started bleeding (with pain and cramping and lots of blood not just spotting) at week 14 or so. I had bleeding around the placenta, but not inside and the placenta remained intact. I was diagnosed with possible placenta previa and I was on very strict bedrest for 4 months, and am on very generous bedrest now. Placenta Previa is where the placenta has attached on or too near the cervix. since the baby exits thru the cervix, if the placenta is attached there there is a big risk to you and the baby and if later in your term the placenta has not stretched far enough away from the cervix, they will do a c-section as soon as it is advisable. The placenta attachment point doesn't actually move during your pregnancy but the doc explained it to me like this. the uterus is like a balloon. Take a balloon and draw a dot near the opening (your cervix) when the balloon is empty. It may look like that dot (meaning the point of attachment) is RIGHT on the edge of the opening. Once you inflate the balloon however that point can really be pretty far away from the opening but unstretched there is no way to tell if it touches or not. The further along I got in my pregnancy, the better my ultrasounds looked. At my last appt with the high risk guy he guesstmated my placenta previa is only 10% likely to cause a problem. I am 30 weeks now and have another ultrasound this friday to see if the placenta attachment is far away enough to not put me in danger. If it is still too close to my cervix I will likely be getting a c-section. This is my first baby so I sure would prefer vaginal, but you do what you ahve to... Anyway I was so sure when I started bleeding that I had to be losing this baby. Over the last 18 years I've lost over a dozen pregnancies, but to my joy, so far this lil boy is doing just fine. I am still being very carefully watched and I have to limit most of what I do, no sex, no housework, not much walking allowed outside (15-20 minutes for shopping at the most) but at least I am not stuck on bedrest. I think I crocheted 14 baby blankets in the months I was stuck in bed Take it easy!!!! do exactly what the doc tells you and jus t try to rest. Get a friend or hubby to bring some books or movies from the library, catch up on reading, or whatever will keep your mind occupied. I will keep you in my thoughts that everything turns out well. Guest guest
Jenni, I have suffered from cyst on my ovaries. It is one of the most painful experiences I have ever been through. For me I ended up loosing an ovary because a cyst grew around the ovary and caused a tork reaction. This was about 5 years ago, before WLS. I have been told many many times over the years that cyst on ovaries is common and that they usually go away on their own. Yet they can still be very painful. I wish the very best for you and your own personal situation. My thoughts and prayers will be with you. Take care and get lots of rest. ~Hugs~ Shalonda > > Hello Eeryone, > > Yesterday I spent the day in the Emergency room, I started bleeding > yesterday morning ( about the same time of the pregnancy I started > with the last one just one week earlier )They did an exam and a > pretty long ultrasound vag and regular, I knew i had been having > pain in intercourse and complained to my previous OBGYN about it > with no answer to why I was ( I am with a new OBGYN Now) .
