Guest guest
I was reading through some of the messages from this past weekend and seen that there were some that have issues with the weight gain. I too have had problems with this and finally had to start seeing a counselor. Granted there were other issues I am dealing with that the couselor has helped me with, weight was one of the bigger ones. My OB has told me so many times how important it is that I eat a balanced diet and as much as I want for the sake of the baby. She has reassured me over and over that I will drop a majority of the weight that I have gained before I even walk out of the hospital. It has been one of the most tramatic experiences to watch the scale go up. Even more so considering the challenges we have all been through with WLS and trying to be healthy normal women. My sister who is also a WLS woman, had her little girl b4 WLS. She reminds me all the time that she gained 45-50lbs with her pregnancy and wasnt able to take much of it off afterwards. She reminds me that I will be different. When I compare what a normal woman gains to what I have it does seem very little. A friend of ours is 26 weeks preggers with her second and she is not a post WLS person (never will need to be) and she has already gained 25 lbs with this baby. Here I am at 33 weeks and I have gained only 16lbs. I think even though it is hard to do, we have to realize that a majority of the weight that we gain is fluids, baby, placenta etc. and that alot of it will be gone before we walk out of the hospitals with our new little bundles of joy. Our surgies are tools for our life long journies and we can sharpen those tools and put them back to good use after our babies are here. I hope that this helps. ~HUGS~ Shalonda
