Guest guest
Soraya - Sorry I don't have any ideas about the potty training issue. But I'm curious about hte oral IVIG? Can you tell more? RuthSent from my iPad I don't know what's going on--for the past 2 weeks my 8 yr-old asd son seems to have lost his potty training when he needs to pee. He still poops in the toilet, but he can't seem to hold his pee anymore. --he's got very limited vocabulary --he doesn't give any indication that he has to pee, nor does he let me know that he's wet himself. He just walks around wet until I notice. --we've been treating for PANDAS for the last 8 months with weekly doses of oral IVIG --the only thing that's changed in his supplement regimen is I added Barlean's fish oil (new), and I brought back valerian, which he'd been on before. --nothing's changed in the home dynamics or at school, as far as I know. Any ideas? Thanks, Soraya

Guest guest
Thanks, we'll get him tested for a new infection. Maybe that's what this is. I asked our DAN, Dr. Megson in Richmond, VA, to start us on oral IVIG after a few courses of azithromicin failed to work. My son had already tested twice for gut strep.I give him a dose of IVIG orally (even though it's an IV or IM preparation) once a week, and it worked in about 3 doses to reduce his PANDAS symptoms about 60%. We're going to meet with a PANDAS specialist b/c I think my son could be better. Maybe the dosage needs to be adjusted. We get the IVIG from Lee Silsby. Each weekly vial is about $65. Guest guest
Yeast and or strep in our house. Or both. Oral IVIG can be tough on the gut, can you get it compounded to transdermal? Or might be you just need to add something more -- anti microbials, anti fungals tis the season as they say he might need to be an a double or triple regimen this time of year. Rotate berberine, OLE for example. > > I don't know what's going on--for the past 2 weeks my 8 yr-old asd son seems to have lost his potty training when he needs to pee.
