Guest guest
My son is 9 and regressed after the MMR plus varicella vaccine at 13 months. He has been very sick since this past August, and has had many labs done which have not revealed much. His IGG Measles and Mumps titers are 5x the normal. The IGM is within range. His doctor was not impressed. Does anyone know if these titers would substantiate the use of Valtrex to decrease autistic symptoms in the absence of any positive HHV or EBV titers (they are negative) ? Also, his Varicella is absent now meaning no longer immune. He has a pos ANA and a pos Sjogrens B plus a very high Complement C4. This is all that came back out of range. He has a history of PANDAS (PANS) and Lyme plus coinfections as well. Any reccomendations would be greatly appreciated.
Guest guest
To bring down the measles titers you can use high dose vitamin A......google Dr McCandless's high dose vitamin A protocol for dosing. I would also try a 90 day tiral of valtrex. You can google Stan Kurtz's paper on valtrex for autism to learn a lot more. Guest guest
are these titers (IGG) typically high than in most vaccinated children ? Guest guest
The IgG just means child has a strong set of antibodies to the pathogen which is why most Docs see it as a good thing. What you can't know with the titres is whether there is any active infection lurking somewhere other than the blood... Like in the brain or cerebrospinal fluid. Vatrex is for DNA viruses like HSV1 & 2, HHV6, Varicella...Vitamin A works against measles infection (RNA virus) mumps, rubella are RNA viruses as well and I beleive there are other antivirals more specific to these viruses. Does this answer your question?Sent from my iPhone are these titers (IGG) typically high than in most vaccinated children ? Guest guest
Yep. I would think that consistently elevated high titers (or re-elevated) would necessitate treatment. Vit a is supposed to be good to bring down measles titers. Valtrex helps herpes related viruses so may be helpful if those titers are elevated but probably not if they are all normal. Which infections has your doctor checked for? Has he checked overall immune function? Given what you've said, he may benefit from immune modulating therapy. Focusing on reducing pathogen load and supporting/modulating the immune system is usually a helpful strategy. Do you have a PAnDAS doc or LLMD?RuthSent from my iPhone My son is 9 and regressed after the MMR plus varicella vaccine at 13 months. Guest guest
Yes, but I am concerned that we are missing the viral piece and labs are not showing positives. I can say 4 years ago his titers were much lower, and now they are high- and that makes no sense to me because he had these vaccines almost 9 years ago. He has immune issues as well, low IgG and low IgA, he has been tested for so many infections and virus and he only has the pos ANA, pos Sjogrens ( which was not impressive to any of his doctors, high inflammatory markers and some lyme pos+ with coinfections. We have been at that for years now though. I thought maybe these high IGG measles/Mumps titers were telling me something, it seems not though. Just strange they were much lower years ago and he has not been vaccinated since. > > > My son is 9 and regressed after the MMR plus varicella vaccine at 13 months. Guest guest
It is possible for an infection to stay latent in the body and then become reactivated. How much higher are they?Sent from my iPhone Yes, but I am concerned that we are missing the viral piece and labs are not showing positives.
