I just took my 16 year old nt son to the dentist- he hasn't been in years. He

has a few little cavities that need to be filled. The dentist informed me that

he uses metal fillings. I asked him if there is mercury in them and he said yes

but its harmless. He said there is harmful chemicals in the clear fillings. My

son is supposed to go and have his cavities filled- but I am very uncomfortable

about going to him and the metal fillings. Does anyone have any advice? Thanks.

Our holistic dentist recommended "Grandio composite" fillings -- he used these to replace my metal/mercury fillings. From what he understands, these are one of the safest options and yes i think there are still some chemicals but still safer than mercury. He doesn't use mercury fillings anymore because he was poisoned by the mercury himself. I wouldn't go to a dentist who thinks the mercury fillings are safe. There is a group of dentists in the US who are certified "holistic" dentists (this is not what they call themselves) who are against mercury fillings....if i remember the acronym i will let you know...this is how i found our current dentist.Subject: Metal FillingsTo: mb12valtrex Date: Saturday, March 2, 2013, 2:50 PM

DO NOT PUT METAL FILLINGS IN YOUR SONS MOUTH......they contain mercury and cause a lot of harm!!!!!! Go to another dentist who uses porcelain. Amalgams have been banned in many other countried for years. it is disgusting that the US has not banned them. I spent thousands having my mercury fillings removed! I totally agree about the grandio composite. There is no harmless mercury. They say the same about the mercury in vaccines! We have also switched to a holistic dentist. We found him by googling "holistic dentist our city". Ozone is a chemical free way to treat cavities. I have done it and been very happy.

Keep in mind that docs only repeat what they have been told by their

teachers who often have NEVER practiced. The ones who do practice, keep

the status quo, by relaying what they were taught in college. As a

matter of fact, when I would ask a doc to explain to me how they know

this or that about mercury, there answer is, " Because I was taught in

college that A study showed it was. " They can tell me nothing about the

study and admit they never did ANY research on their own concerning

it. So, just saying, the only docs who really know are the ones who do

self-research outside out of college, such as those who are ill or who

have ill family members who want to make them well, as in really well,

not the band-aid medicine most docs are still doing. Silver fillings

are very toxic and that's that. They are so toxic that they are not

outlawed from being thrown away in typical garbage. The dentists have

to treat them as hazardous material. Just saying, they are too toxic

for the landfill, but not too toxic for your mouth. Geez!
