Guest guest
Son-Rise rules!!! Yes, " imitating them " is actually called " joining " what they do, when they are doing their repetitive behaviors, to show them that we love them and accept them just like they are, and we understand that they need to do the, for example, hand flapping, objects lining, etc, due to their sensory issues. We accept and love them just like they are, at the same time that we want to help them progress and get better, and overcome autism. The Son-Rise is IMO the BEST therapy, the most human, loving one. You guys should check it out!! I respect those who do ABA, of course. But for me I felt like they were training my daughter like a dog or a monkey, with treats if she did the right thing... And I see many children become sort of a little " robot " with ABA. The Son-Rise is based on the kid's motivation, they have the control, they are having fun, so they don't need a treat to learn, they are motivated to do so! I personally know the Dad in the video, his name is , he is now a parent consultant at the Autism Treatment Center of America, home of the son-rise program. Everyone should watch the movie Son-Rise The Miracle of Love (it's on You Tube) or read the book, which tells us the story of this therapy that has been recovering thousands of children since the 70's. And it's compatible with the biomedical!
