There is water kefir and milk kefir. We drink both, but love milk kefir more.

Water kefir dairy free.

havnt had the chance to make water kefir lately but when I first gave it to my son over a year ago it caused massive die off...so go slow like in all things ..water kefir is dairy free,,,
