Guest guest
We use them both to sweeten and to keep the smoothie from getting hot (friction from the blender). Otherwise we use fresh bananas and ice. Monkeys mix bananas and greens in the wild. Guest guest
there is a book called green for life by victoria boutenko it is all about green smoothies....really great book...I recomend it to anyone wanting to learn more about this..as jean mentioned apes eat bananas and greens together so maybe there is something to that... I use bananas only cuz it seems to be the combination my son likes the best..i definitly would like to try with other combinations........I could only give him small amounts in the beginning cuz he had all the bacteria issues going on and friut was a problem....i still only give one smoothie per day....as we still are fighting pathogens so I am still careful about his sugar/friut intake:) spinach and peaches is one other combination that worked well...i think the hardier greens go better with bananas To: "mb12valtrex " <mb12valtrex > Sent: Monday, March 11, 2013 5:26 PMSubject: Re: green smoothie oh! also i use only one kind of greens each day...you want to rotate greens each day.not use them all at once:) To: mb12valtrex Sent: Sunday, March 10, 2013 8:35 AMSubject: Re: green smoothie 9, 2013 10:00 AMSubject: Re: Re: Regression > > > > >> > > > > >> > > > > >> > > > >> > > >> > > > > > > >> > >> >>

Guest guest
oh goodness....yah I was reading in the smoothie book....greens make some kind of chemical that makes animals sick if they eat to much of same kind..this is natures way of keeping plants from dieing...so the animal eats a cetain amount from one plant...then next day goes on to a diffrent plant.....that way the animal doesnt biuld up to much chemicals from any one plant...there is a better way to explain it...but green for life book does much better explanation.... Guest guest
Hi Virginia, When my son was younger I used to put his green smoothies in a Bob the Builder blue cup and straw. He couldn't see the color of the smoothie through the cup because if he saw the green color he would automatically not like it. But when he couldn't see the color he loved it because it was sweet and delicious. I think kids are born with a preconceived notion to dislike foods and drinks that are green!
