Funny... I was a 3x at conception and now just wearing and XL and I am 37 weeks preggers... My scale say 202 lbs... I was about 225lbs at conception... I haven't lost alot of 'numbers'... but my body fat and melted off ... Mentally.. I am so itching to birth this kid so I can continue losing weight... my ugly scar is a reminder of WHAT I did to lose the weight... and while I am very pregnant... I am so not liking my big preggo belly... It's a mental thing I know....it is so hard to turn off the " fat " thoughts after years and years of obsession. Good news is that my iron level is around a 9... should be closer to 11... but not bad considering... I was severely anemic with Noah.. and that was Pre WLS. Gotta love those childrens chewables. OMG hi again ladies, i am new here as I just intro'd myself this morning. I had gastric bypass in march and now i am pregnant but until monday didnt know how far along.. i didnt even know i was pregnant at all!!! well now i have my update. i hope you will read on. BTW, its so good to find a message board that is so specific to my particular situation. I am so lucky to have been referred to you guys! its been a long day. i posted earlier that i found out i was pregnant on friday and that i would post an update this afternoon. On monday, I called to tell my ob that it wasnt an enlarged cyst, but, rather a pregnancy indeed!! they then (to my total devastation!!) told me they are no longer taking any OB patients.... she is converting to gynecology strictly!! what the?? here i am pregnant, high risk, not to mention conceived SOON after gastric bypass and i suddenly have no doctor. to her credit they at least got me an US. well turns out i was able to find a wonderful dr. within the 1/2 hour with the referral of a good friend and they accomodated me immediately!!! (isnt that unheard of!!) officially, i am 17 1/2 weeks pregnant and due april 3rd 2005 acc. to the US and the doctors internal exam. i just cant believe it. the US i had was a simple one for dates and size and thats how they came up with how far along i am. also because i have pregnancy history of nueral tube defects (more prevalent among obese women i learned) they ordered a level III US with a perinatalogist next november 2nd, next tuesday. the US tech didnt see any signs of nueral tube defects today but i wont rest completely till i see my perinatologist next week. so that is my update. im still floored by the sudden and exciting news. i am comforted by the fact that it sounds like the baby is healthy. already having two boys (and a third, the one that we lost to nueral tube defects), i learned that the heart beat is 144 beats per minute -- most likely, theoretically another boy!! guess we can count on our name being carried on for sure! I know my husband and I both would love to see a little girl come into the world but what is meant to be is meant to be. speaking of my dh, he isnt taking this all so well. He is still very much in shock and cant believe this has happened, that we didnt know sooner. thank you for listening ladies! I look forward to spending the next 1/2 of my pregnancy with you guys! kimberly in ca Children are a blessing, and a gift from the Lord. -Psalm 127:
