Guest guest
A regular ped COULD order them but often they are not very knowledgeable on this and so will choose not to. They can on the same script but need to be ordered individually. Most infections could be a trigger for PANS/PAnDAS. But not al kids show those symptoms. Infections can cause other issues those including shutting off the immune system, increasing cytokines, triggering autoimmune issues , etc. I'd imagine the behaviors are individual to the child. There are many that think that autism is an immune mediated illness. And, often these infections are a big part of the problem. RuthSent from my iPhone So is this typical testing a regular pediatrician can order? Are they ordered individually or is it in a "group" like amino acid testing? What kind of behaviors are we referring to? PANDAS type symptoms or something else? Cristine Re: High cmv and hhv6 titers - ???treatment options We do valtrex for all my kids. Only one is immune compromised. Oliverex is also a good thing. Homeopathy is another option. They have worked for us jn the past. Ruth Sent from my iPhone Hi everyone,I got high CMV titers on my son's bloodwork. His IgG is 10.1. He also has elevated hhv6. What are the treatment options for CMV? Valtrex is used by a lot of my friends here but it is mainly used for prevention of cmv in immunocompromised patients. What are the treatment options for CMV in our kids? I have heard of lysine but not sure if it will help. Will really appreciate any help that I can get from all of you.Thanksis
Guest guest
What reason does a parent get these tests done? Just because? To rule things out? My Integrative Pediatrician has ordered other tests (IgG4 Food Antibodies 90 Antigens test, as well as MTHFR, Folate, Anti-Thyroglobulin Antibodies, Anti-TPO Antibodies, TSH, Free T4, Free T3) and so I suspect she would be open to these other ones, too. So do I let her choose which ones to test for, or do I request all of them (Lyme, mycoplasmas, strep (including ASO and antidnaseb), hhv6, EBV, CMV)? I would guess that he doesn't need to be tested for Lyme because he has never had a tic on him. I hope these questions do not seem silly. My husband and I are at a point of feeling overwhelmed and hopeless trying to figure things out and help him. TIA to anyone who has input. Guest guest
, In my son's case he had roseola before his first regression. Then he had another mysterious rash which was followed by another regression. I always felt like he had some chronic viral infection as he had lymphadenopathy for a long time when he was younger. He also has a lot of sensory issues, visual stimming and allergies. Then we did a nagalase test, Anne Connelly antibody test and both pointed towards a chronic viral infection. So since I was thinking to take the valtrex route and also felt like my son is dealing with pans, I decided to check the titers before starting the meds for a baseline. And now I have a very high IGG for CMV which is making me nervous. So I would say that depending on your son's symptoms and clinical history, you can determine if viruses could be an issue and then whenever he gets the next blood work, get the titers added. Good luck is > > > > Hi everyone, > > I got high CMV titers on my son's bloodwork. His IgG is 10.1. He also has elevated hhv6. What are the treatment options for CMV? Guest guest
,Lots and lots of people with Lyme don't ever recall a tic or tic bite.If you take a look at the SCIA panel, it covers a TON of labs. Your questions aren't silly, by the way. It's alot to take in.Tammy To: mb12valtrex Sent: Friday, July 20, 2012 3:52 PM Subject: Re: High cmv and hhv6 titers - testing What reason does a parent get these tests done? Just because? Guest guest
Hello, I was wondering which doctors would run these tests, ( doctor's name?) I'm having trouble testing my kids - even when we had micoplasma the docs would not test for it! How long does it hang around and does it ever go away? It's ridiculous how long we've had mucusy throats, dryness in mouth, increase in symptoms every two weeks... Help! Thank you, thank you!
