Guest guest
One of the symptoms of my daughter condition is the eyes rolling up. She will do this when she gets tired or is in her more severe condition. We think inflammation is the cause, but find it related to low blood sugar or at least juice will sometimes relieve the problem. Anti inflammatories or analgesic will also relieve the problem at times. Her doctor originally prescribed the analgesics. We found aspirin or Tylenol would relieve the problem temporarily. Has anyone determined the root cause of this? Dr. s
Guest guest
Don't use tylenol too toxic for the liver. There are natural inflammatories out there to use, or use motrin. How do you know she is not having seizures? The eye issue could be related to seizures, if you have not done a 24 hr EEG on her, how do you know for sure. I would also video tape her doing this, to take to a Neurologist. I would also look into testing her for PANDAS, also another immune problem with many of these kids. > > One of the symptoms of my daughter condition is the eyes rolling up. Guest guest
Dr. s, My son recently started this back in Sept. for the first time. He's been having issues every Fall with allergies the past 3 Falls, more so than usual in the past (he is now 17 yrs, but only like a 3 yr old) anyway I noticed after the 1st fall of allergy issues and headaches, that spring his vision was being affected. Though stable and now worse over the past 2 yrs. it's not 100%.. optic nerve degeneration wiht mild myopia. I've had been suspecting Intracanial Hypertension or even mild pressure.. This year when it all started I asked my doc to let us try Diamox as his eyes started rolling upward as well and this was new for us. I found article that state that pressuree on certain cranial nerves can casue vision issues and upward eye movement. Long story shot Nov 27, we started 125mg of diamox 2x daily.. it helped overall a lot, we played with dosing and it seems that 250mg at dinner and 125-200mg in the AM work optimally for him. We even went to acupuncture today for the first time since being on diamox and the doc said that his pulses were excellent, better than he's ever been in the 18 months he's been seeing him. Here are two articles I found helpful did not have pappilledma. http://webeye.ophth.uiowa.edu/educational-articles/item/172 and another http://www.gordonstate.edu/Faculty/a_purvis/Neuro%20lecture,%202004.htm I'm sure you can find others as well.
