Elevated liver enzymes on valtrex

Hi everyone,

My son has been on valtrex 500 mg three times a day for almost 6 weeks. He is

also on diflucan which he has been on since january. I just got his lab results

and his AST is slightly elevated at 52(ref range 15-40) and GGT is 27 (ref range

11-21). His ALT and Alk phos are normal. He had a cold last about 5 days before

the test. Now I am not sure if this mild elevation is from the viral infection

that he had as there is some elevation whenever there is an infection or it is

from valtrex. Just wondering if anyone experienced elevated liver enzymes while

on valtrex or diflucan and if so, how high were the enzymes. If anyone has

noticed mild elevation then what was done? Were the diflucan/valtrex stopped or

continued and the labs were repeated to see if it was an error or if LFTs

improve. My dan was not comfortable with me using 500 mg 3 x a day and was

suggesting to keep the dose around 1000 mg in total but since my son is 76 lbs,

I did not listen to him and continued the 500 mg. Now I am a little worried and

need suggestions. Any input will be appreciated.

Thanks
