Guest guest
Hi,I used to give my son Culturelle and when we started he had gas. he was fussy but not screaming crying, he eventually got used to it in a few days.I used it for many years without problems, but i do remember i had problems in the beginning. Did youcheck other alternatives, there are many out there. Tunde Hi I gave my 2.5 year old son 1 sachet of Cuturelle (Lactobacillus GG) probiotic, on the empty stomach today morning. Since then he is uncontrollably crying with pain and releasing lots of gas through his mouth (which he has never done before). Also we have noticed some small red spots on his legs, arms and ears. Its more than 6 hrs now since we gave him the sachet but he is still crying. We are totally clueless on what's going on. If you have some idea, please let me know what's this and what we should do to provide immediate relief to him. Guest guest
It is more than likely die-off....whenever I start anything new with my Aspie, I always start small, and she's almost recovered. Our kids' systems are so much more sensitive than typical kids. Try opening the pill up and giving small amounts and building your way up to the entire pill. You could try putting it in a bite of apple sauce or something like that. Luckily, probiotics don't taste bad at all. Hope your little guy feels better this morning. If you ever had another situation like that where you suspect it's die-off, you could try activated charcoal, that usually will give some relief. Guest guest
Hi shellyWe gave him the entire sachet diluted in 1 tsp of cold water, on an empty stomach. After 30 minutes of this, we gave him his regular dose of Super Nu thera mixed in the vegetables soup. Since then he has been crying with pain. Also I find that Lactobacillus GG has some Caesin in it. My son is on a Caesin free diet for the past 4 months now.So I am finding too many variables here which could have caused this problem.I am not sure whether its too much of the qty, reaction with Super Nu thera?, die-off?, Caesin reaction? Please advise if you get some idea.RegardsAmitSent from BlackBerry® on AirtelSender: mb12valtrex Date: Sun, 21 Oct 2012 05:13:59 -0700 (PDT)To: <mb12valtrex >ReplyTo: mb12valtrex Subject: Re: Culturelle - side effects? Guest guest
I'd have to guess that if he's used to the SNT then that isn't the prolem. I don't have experience with Casein free, since we never tried that. And if the Culterelle is the only thing new, that almost has to be the problem. Did the doctor who told you to try it know your son is CF? I would hesitate to give it to him again knowing it has casein in it, even in small amounts. Do you have any charcoal you can give him to see if that would offer some relief? To: mb12valtrex Sent: Sun, October 21, 2012 8:23:15 AMSubject: Re: Culturelle - side effects? Guest guest
There is a cf version. Agree that giving charcoal would be good. And then switch to this version?http://www.cpmedical.net/culturelle-lactobacillus-gg-lgg.htmlRuthSent from my iPhone I'd have to guess that if he's used to the SNT then that isn't the prolem. Guest guest
Hi now does that one have the casein in it? Or maybe its the prebiotics. If you only gave it to him once i am not sure if that would be die off.If that were me i would try a different kind.I do customs 4 strain lacto and its been wonderful.Downside very expensive.I have heard on autismweb alot of kids having reactions to it.We never did culterelle, but alot kids do good on it also. Guest guest
The way I tell if it's die-off, which is more the case in most instances, is to first allow the reaction to fade. If it's an allergy, the tiniest re-introduction will produce the same or worse affect. Allowing the reaction to fade, and then reintroducing a smaller amount in die-off situations, has a smaller reaction which continues to lessen with lesser amounts, and over time, larger amounts can be used with little to no reaction. (not to be used as medical advice - just saying what I do with my family). I would say that 99 out of 100 times, it was die-off, and only about 1 out of 100 times for my family was it an allergy or intolerance. Love and prayers, Heidi N
Guest guest
Amit It might be that 1 sachet was too much for him so maybe give 1/4 of it for a few days then build up to half for few days till u get to 1 sachet!!This is recommendation the dr Mcbride suggest in her gaps book for probiotic Sent from my iPod HiWe were told by our doctor to start this. Now we are not able to understand that whether my son is showing a reaction to Culturelle or its a die-off?Please advise if you can guide.RegardsAmitSent from BlackBerry® on Airtel Sender: mb12valtrex Date: Sun, 21 Oct 2012 13:11:44 +0300To: <mb12valtrex >ReplyTo: mb12valtrex Subject: Re: Culturelle - side effects?
