Guest guest
My doctor tested for antibodies to various viruses known to cause issues (IgG, IgM). We tested for EBV. CMV, hbv6. I'm sure there are others to look into. Also, we tested for nagalase, which was high. Here is an article on nagalase. http://www.ageofautism.com/2011/10/dr-bradstreet-nagalase-and-the-viral-issue-in-autism.htmlDr Bradstreet has done a lot of investigation into it and you can read more on his site. HTHRuthSent from my iPhone For those using valtrex for their asd kids, what test did you do to confirm that your kid had viral infection? Was it a blood test done by the Dr or a test kit i can order from Great plains Lab ? Thanks- Jenitta

Guest guest
Pull HHV 1-6. While you're doing it might as well get Anti-Dnase and ASO titers to check for PANDAS. Also pull T & B Lymphs/NK Cells and a CBC+CMP. If you're already pulling blood you might as well pull as much as you can to test as much as you can.Things like thyroid, IGF-1, cortisol, anemia panel, mycoplasma, toxoplasmosis, vaccine titers, and anything else you want. Serum candida and strep (I can't remember the names off the top of my head). I'd pull out my labs to give you a better list but my husband would kill me for waking him up at midnight to pull them out. These are done through labcorp so you're insurance should cover it all. But you need to have a doctor willing to order it so I hope you have a DAN... ~ Antiviral Therapy 101~~ Make a biomed book ~~ gryffinstail.wordpress.com ~~ @Gryffins_Tail ~ For those using valtrex for their asd kids, what test did you do to confirm that your kid had viral infection?
