Guest guest
Hi Crystal, At 10.5 weeks about a year and a half ago I experienced the same symptoms as you described. I began bleeding and called my OB/GYN who told me to watch myself for the next little bit because at this time if I were miscarrying there wasn't really anything that could be done to stop it. He told me that I should bring in any solids, should I expel anything. Within a few hours I had lost some gray/red-tinged matter and scooped it out of the toilet to take into the hospital for analysis. When I went to the hospital to take in the matter I'd saved for testing, my HCG levels were checked and it was determined that they were lower than the last time they were taken and it seemed as if a miscarrage was imminant. For the next couple of days, I returned for HCG tests; my levels continued to drop slowly. The lab report showed that there was no " fetal " tissue in the gray matter, but that it did contain placental material. I was told that the reason there was probably no fetal tissue is because my pregnancy resulted in a " blighted ovum, " meaning that the cells never really developed into a fetus, indicating that there was likely severe abnormalities with the developing embryo. I am sorry to hear about your experience and pray that if your pregnancy is not meant to continue, you'll heal quickly and not give up hope. After our heartbreaking miscarriage, we were blessed in July with our beautiful twins, Aubree & Ethan. If there was ever a time after our initial loss, that I questioned the workings and decisions of my Lord, the birth of our healthy twins served as a reminder that even though we may go through heartbreaking events, there are great gifts still waiting for us.
