4 months pregnant, need small surgery.. HELP

All,

I am four months pregnant and I have just been scheduled for surgery

to remove a very large ovarian cyst next week. They may have to

remove the ovary also. My only experience with any surgery was the

RnY. I had it open about 15 months ago and it was horrible pain!

This one will be Lap...

Can anyone offer words of comfort?? Anyone experience this type of

thing?

I agree that the bariatric surgery was hellacious... by far, it was the worst

thing I have

endured to date. Since then I have had a c-section, breast reduction, and

panniculectomy.

The plastic surgery was pretty bad, but nothing like the bariatric. Even the

c-section

was a complete and total breeze; I was up walking around as soon as I could feel

my feet

again. My guess is that, after your RnY, you'll be shocked and surprised by how

no-big-deal this cystectomy will be.

When I had labored for 22 hours and was miserable, I agreed to the c-section...

and I

cried HARD because I knew they were going to cut me open and I remembered how

horrible my stomach surgery had been. I expected it to be simply awful. And it

wasn't.

Maybe it was the excitement of the baby's arrival... but it just didn't really

bother me

much.

I hope your cystectomy is boring and uneventful. : ) I bet it will be.

I just had surgery last week at 12 1/2 weeks to repair a hernia,

small bowel obstruction along w/adhesions. It's no picnic but not

as bad as the gbs ( I had that lap also). Surgery is surgery .
