Guest guest
Ellen, congrats on getting the all clear! Thats great news! A. 14 weeks Well, I had a first look ultrasound and testing to see if there was the possibility for Downs Syndrome or other genetic defects (since I am over 40) and got the test results - all clear! So, hubby and I decided to tell our sons, who are 20 and 15. The 20 year old had to go into his room to " think about it " and the 15 year old told us we were nuts and not allowed to go to the Lake of the Ozarks by ourselves anymore. I told him not to worry, he would always be my baby, to which he responded that he did not even think about that, okay, well he did, he said, but only for a second. He wants a little brother, he tells me so he has someone to push around like his brother pushed him around. I said, I really don't think you are going to push him around since you will be twenty when he is five.... I told him, think of it this way, when he is 15 and being bad, you'll be 30 and he can go live with you! The ultrasound was pretty remarkable, the pictures are so much clearer than they were 15 and 20 years ago. I did get a surprise though, by my calculations, I was due end of April, but the doctor is saying April 9th! Now I just have to think of baby names... I am leaning toward Sophie for a girl and Gavin or Aiden for a boy. My older son wants for a girl (NOT a favorite of mine) and the younger wants Aloysius for a boy. Mom likes Sophie for a girl and for a boy (she claims Aiden is too close to Ian, my 15 year old's name and it will confuse the dog - don't ask me - I did not get it either). Children are a blessing, and a gift from the Lord. -Psalm 127:
