Not looking too good...

I went for my ultrasound yesterday. They see a yolk sac, but no fetal

pole. They say it could be because it's so soon (6 weeks). However,

the reason for the u/s is that I'm spotting, and continue to...just a

little, but it's there. Also, I was told that my HCG levels are on

the low end of normal. I go to see my new OB for the first time

friday, and she is going to run another u/s. Her nurse told me that

my blood work showed my Progesterine levels as normal...I took that

to mean a good thing, but now I'm second guessing what that could

mean...normal, as in not pregnant, or normal as in showing a

pregnancy. Am I splitting hairs here or what!!?? I guess I'm just

playing the waiting game and I am in emotional limbo. Keep me in your

prayers, and thanks for letting me lean on your shoulders.

Kim,

I may not know much but I was pregnant about 3-4 years ago, it was

my first time pregnant and I was OHHHH so excited. Well I started

having really bad cramps and went to the ER and they wouldnt tell me

what they did or didnt see, so I was kind of annoyed and I went to

my OB and he told me it was a " blighted Ovum " which is a sac but

what happend is no baby forms. Before I would do a D & C i have

another ultrasound and I was about 10 weeks Prego at the time, and

still there was nothing. My body should have aborted it, but it

didnt want to. So I had to go in for a D & C and was depressed for a

year after. I hope this isnt you, but wanted to let you know about

what I went through. I would rather you be prepared then not...

Please dont think Im telling you this IS what is going on, because I

am by no means a Dr. Best wishes to you sweety...

Betty

Kim,

I know this is a scary time for you but try to relax and think

possitive...I too was told my baby had no heart beat at a 5.5 u/s i

was spotting and cramping this was the reason for the u/s which was

done on a friday and i was told to follow up with obgyn on monday so

needless to say i spent all weekend crying and praying almost saying

good bye to my little baby...if it wasnt for the few people that

called and gave me hope i would have probably given up all together

even the radiologist who is a dr at the place i work gave me no

hope...come monday my dr said sorry and that it wasnt anything i did

and gave me some options ie d & c or natural miscarriage another hcg

level test and possibly an u/s well of course i opted to test again

and the levels continued to rise so a follow up u/s was done 6 days

later and the jaws hit the floor there was his little heart beat 95

bpm, i continued to have spotting up to 11 weeks and cramping through

out my pregnancy and was closely monitored i now have a 5.5 baby boy

..I know he is a miracle for me and so i cherish him dearly..I

suffered a miscarriage a year before that so i know how it is to lose

and to gain a miracle. i really truely hope all turns out good for

you and I will keep you and baby in my thoughts and prayers...

in my own personal and professional experience, patients have been

told they have " blighted ovum's " " ectopic pregnancies " or inevitable

miscarriage, when in fact they have all delivered happy, healthy babies.

My OB had me set up for a tubal preg removal (take a look at my TUBAL

on my profile page! "

I wouldnt do anything drastic and just let nature take its course

(unless of course you start bleeding healily, or are in severe pain,

or starting running a fever.

Sheila,

I was like 10 weeks along, and there was no blood showing up on the

ultrasound, I was watching it the whole time. It was empty... But

thanks now I feel like crap.. Having been told that.

Kim - I has an US at what they thought was 6 weeks also (it seems

that I ovulated later than they thought so it was more like 5 weeks)

and ther was a yolk sack but not visable fetal pole. I am now typing

this with my baby girl in my arms. There is hope- try not to stress

and take it one day at a time until you are sure what is what. - Diane

I dont understand what you mean by *no blood showing up on the US*

If you are supposedly 10 weeks along and there was nothing in your

sac, then you probably would miscarry on your own eventually. I wasn't

suggesting you would have a healthy baby since I didn't observe the

US. I " m sure your Dr's did what they thought was best.

I am only on this board off and on as my children allow me to be, so I

apologize if you have already had a D & C.

Oftentimes, there is no reason for the miscarriage.

I am sorry for your loss as my intention wasn't to make you feel worse.
