IV Chelation - For Cadmium removal

Hello AllMy son of 5 yrs old recently had his blood test done and the lab results revealed that he has some high levels of Cadmium in his body. The doctor is recommending to do IV chelation by using calcium EDTA. My wife is not comfortable doing IV chelation since she has not heard positive reviews about it from 2 other moms. So just wanted to know has anyone done IV chelation in general and how was their experience? If anyone has done calcium EDTA or know of other mechanisms for cadmium removal it would be more than appreciated.RegardsAalok
