Guest guest
hmm... sounds like your Dr needs what I call an " inservice day " for additional training... While is it not recommended and discouraged to concieve early post op and wait until your body has stabilized ... there are many of us here (myself included) who have become pregnant almost immediately. While I personally am high risk.. it has NOTHING to do with the RNY. In fact... I am doing quite well.. my labs are great.. I am just tired.. but then I have a 2 year old.. who wouldn't be? The only thing different I did food wise was add whole grains and " good carbs " and some MM's.. ( pg craving) Granted.. I am having a small hernia issue... but will be much more comfy in 4 weeks after Jonah is born. I would rather have a Post op baby then a Pre op baby... I lost weight during this pg.. and gained 60 lbs with my 2 year old.. AND had him 9 weeks early... Guest guest
Get a new doctor. Good grief, that Kaiser woman needs to learn. Playing with fire? Umm no. No more so than any other woman especially if you are over a year or two out from surgery. You shouldn't get pregnant while you are losing weight quickly but WLS alone will not impede you from having a healthy pregnancy. I had surgery in 1998 and gave birth to a healthy little girl in 2000. Playing with fire? She sounds ignorant. Ferguson Rasley mailto:dferguson@... sadly misinformed my name is razan and i am one year post op. i have lost 120 pounds and have 30 to go. i recently went to a kaiser doctor to have a check up and mentioned to her that i would like to become pregnant in the next six months. she informed me that i was playing with fire and that i should forget the idea since i am a GBP. she said that i should have thought of this before i did my surgury. she told me that i would have a vey unhealthy pregnancy and that i should just forget it. i am blessed with two children but i would love to have more. after hearing about this group i desperatly wanted to join so i could know the real facts. please tell me your openions and if any of you live in the stockton area of california and know of a better informed doctor please let me know. thanks for the support. razan Children are a blessing, and a gift from the Lord. -Psalm 127:
