Not necessarily true. I had a partially small bowel obstruction

along w/adhesions and internal hernia. Keep on them. I had pain

along w/vomitting although not all the time.

Dear ,

My name is Gerri and I posted a while back about some severe pain I

was having. Before I was diagnosed and operated on for an INTERNAL

HERNIA. This is not the same as an incisional hernial. It is caused

by a piece of your intestine slips around another piece, basically

causing an obstruction. It's hard to diagnose. It can correct

itself temporarily, which is why it the pain can come and go. I was

not pregnant when it happened so I am not sure what to tell you

except to point blank bring up the possibilty of internal hernia with

your surgeon and see what he says. Make sure you dont make the

mistake of just calling a hernia because this can be palpated(felt)

on exam and an internal hernia cannot. It can be dangerous because

if it stays knottedin that way too long you risk the intestine losing

blood supply for too long and parts of the intestine would have to be

removed, which I believe happened to someonelse on this list.

Dont want to scare you but I would press the docs to be sure for

yours and your baby's safety.

Luck and laughter

Gerri
