Guest guest
Thanks Cheryl. Yes I have already started valtrex and now my son is on 250 mg 3xday. Oh my God! He is a big fungus ball now:))This is the yeast that I have never dealt with before. He is already on diflucan 100 mg daily and on custom probiotics. I am increasing the probiotic dose but feel like this yeast is something else. I had tried candex a couple of years ago and don't remember exactly how much it had helped. He couldn't tolerate candidase. Should I switch the antifungal or add something stronger? Please share your experience dealing with this valtrex induced yeast. My son is phenol sensitive so I don't have many options with the herbs. Any help will be appreciated. Guest guest
Hi alexis,I'm not cheryl but thought I would chime in. We didn't see good results with diflucan and once we switched to sporanox he did much better for several months. Our latest switch to ketocanazole is going ok so far too. Amp b is supposed to be good too but both of my kids were sensitive to it....anyway, bottom line I would consider a switch myself if it's not working. Hope all gets better soon! Cheers, megan-- Sent from my Palm Pre Thanks Cheryl. Yes I have already started valtrex and now my son is on 250 mg 3xday. Oh my God! Guest guest
Thanks . I was looking for an alternate antifungal a few weeks ago but the seemed like diflucan was ok with custom probiotics. Since I started valtrex, yeast went completely crazy despite the combination. Tonight finally I saw some die off since I went up on the probiotic dose. I will see tomorrow and if the yeast continues to flare, I will ask the dan for sporanox. He was recommending amp B last time but I don't wanna try that as it is not systemic and I feel like my son needs a systemic one. When my son was on nystatin, he got more clostridia and I believe the same will happen with amp B as it will kill the gut yeast and flare clostridia. Will let you know how it goes. Sorry it has been a little crazy for me with my son in the last few days although his behavior is not bad but he is so hungry all the time and so silly and goofy and engaging in loud verbal stimms, I am unable to concentrate even for few minutes. But I am grateful to God that he is at least happier. I saw your email also and will write to you soon too. Thanks again for reminding me about sporanox. is > > & gt; & gt; & gt; & gt; & gt; & gt; & gt; > > & gt; & gt; & gt; & gt; & gt; & gt; & gt; Hi everyone, > > & gt; & gt; & gt; & gt; & gt; & gt; & gt; > > & gt; & gt; & gt; & gt; & gt; & gt; & gt; First I wanted to thank everyone who helped me decide the best > > & gt; & gt; & gt; & gt; & gt; & gt; approach for my kid in dealing with viruses. Guest guest
At the ARI conference this year, there was a lot of discussion on sacc boulardii especially for clostridia. I can't recall why my dan specifically told me not to use it for my son. I always plan to ask him but appointment runs long and never get to it. Will definitely ask him this time. It had something to do with immune dysfunction. Will let you know. is > > > > > > & gt; & gt; & gt; & gt; & gt; & gt; & gt; > > > > > > & gt; & gt; & gt; & gt; & gt; & gt; & gt; Hi everyone, > > > > > > & gt; & gt; & gt; & gt; & gt; & gt; & gt; > > > > > > & gt; & gt; & gt; & gt; & gt; & gt; & gt; First I wanted to thank everyone who helped me decide the best > > > > > > & gt; & gt; & gt; & gt; & gt; & gt; approach for my kid in dealing with viruses. Guest guest
Are you sure it's yeast and not die off? I would wait before changing things around too much.Patience.If you move things too fast you can't keep track of what's doing what and at the end of the day, that's more important than trying to play super sleuth too early. *****Cheryl******~ Antiviral Therapy 101~~ Make a biomed book ~~ gryffinstail.wordpress.com ~~ @Gryffins_Tail ~ Thanks Cheryl. Guest guest
Cheryl, His symptoms are extreme hunger, hyperactivity, carb cravings, playing with genitals, verbal stimms, night wakings, tantrums for carb foods, brain fog. Seems like he is only thinking about food these days. The positives are he is using speech more spontaneously and also got a cold sore on his lip for the first time ever. I doubled the probiotic dose and his yeast symptoms are better. What does a viral die off look like? When I went up on the probiotic dose, then he had a lot of die off and activated charcoal helped. I havn't switched the antifungal yet since probiotics are helping but would love to know how viral die off would be different from yeast die off? Also I am taking the cold sore as a positive sign. Am I right? Guest guest
Yes, a cold sore is a good sign.Learning what viral die off looks like in your child is exactly why you need to start things one at a time. What means what in your kid is dependent upon the kid. Die off is essentially the symptoms for that particular issue but tons worse. I can't tell you what viral die off looks like in your son. I can tell you what it might look like. But it's not that much different from yeast or bacteria or anything else because until you get specific with your child, it's not going to be easy to say. For instance, in my son yeast and bacteria and viral die off can look very similar. But with yeast, my son sticks his hands in his mouth (also his toes). That's how I know which is which. When he has high ammonia, I know because he starts getting mean. Hyperactivity is both yeast and bacterial die off in my house. So I HAVE to know what the one thing is for each one that isn't common to all of them. You do that by taking lots of notes. This is what I've been trying to impress upon people. A lot of things look alike so you have to work at finding out which is which. You can't just start a bunch of stuff and expect to be able to figure it out because you can't. I didn't know what my son's yeast symptoms were until I treated for yeast. Now I can spot it a mile away. I don't even hardly need labs anymore. Take notes. Copious notes. The links in my signature are there because they will help. It's the same answers to the same questions I've been asked for years now. I don't tell people to search the archives like other groups do because I know what a PITA that is. I know how awful the search function is. That's why I stuck it in my signature. It's a hard road. Make it easier on yourself by doing it slowly and systematically. Make a biomed book. Take lots of notes. Understand your child. Those are the most important things everyone needs to learn to see even a little bit of success. * * * Cheryl * * * ~ Antiviral Therapy 101~~ Make a biomed book ~~ gryffinstail.wordpress.com ~~ @Gryffins_Tail ~ Cheryl, His symptoms are extreme hunger, hyperactivity, carb cravings, playing with genitals, verbal stimms, night wakings, tantrums for carb foods, brain fog.
