Thankfully, for me, my now MIL was not around when Devin was growing

up.

Hubby and I got together when my son was already past the age where

MIL could try dictate how I should raise him. Besides, he grew into

such a great kid that there isn't much negative she could say that

would be taken seriously by anyone. The twins, however, are her

first biological grandchildren so she probably sees it as her God-

given right to put in her unsolicited .02.

Bless her heart, even if Devin isn't biologically her grandchild,

she has always been very accepting of him and never made him feel

any less cared for than his siblings.

This is why I am asking for kind ways to let her know how she feels.

She is not being mean spirited, she is just misguided and

misinformed.
