Guest guest
Hi My doc finally gave me vicodan (for the scar-stretching pain) - which by the way only works for about 3 hours instead of the 6 the bottle says. My malabsorption is responsible for that I'm sure. I'm so miserable. I'm entering week 38 on Tuesday and she says she can do a C-section but I really really don't want one. I asked about induction and she says my cervix needs to show signs of being ready before she'll do that. Why? Other women have been induced when their cervix wasn't " ready " . What's the deal? She has no concept of what my pain is like and I have vowed that I will never use this doc again if I have a #3! Anyone know why she'd say that about the induction? Guest guest
Hi Aaliyah, I was hoping you could tell me how 'scar stretching pain' is defined? I am 36 weeks along with 3 kids already and have not heard of this. I had a laproscopic RNY so maybe that is why. As far as your induction quesion.... I can tell you that if they induce you before your cervix starts showing any signs of readiness it will only promise you a very long drawn out painful labor, which could very well end in c-section anyway because the labor will not progress along nicely. I have had 3 c-sections and I would advise anyone who faced an " option " to try and hold out for labor to happen as naturally as possible. C- Section, despite what some feel, is still a surgical procedure with more complications and recuperation than vaginal birth. You are in the final stretch! Your in my prayers for relief from the pain from which your suffering and just keep thinking about the great reward that awaits you, your baby. Lots of luck, love and laughter, Gerri 36 weeks Boston, MA .......... Guest guest
This is my second baby. I was induced the first time because the baby broke my water and nothing happened. The cervix just wasn't ready and finally after 29 hours they did a C-section. > Is this your first baby? Guest guest
Gerri I actually had my surgery lap with hand assist (so my vertical scar is about 3 inches long). Actually all the pain is occurring in the region where the lap scars are! As we know, scar tissue doesn't stretch. Well, with my growing belly the scar tissue is being pulled every which way on the inside and it's killing me! So that's my " scar stretching pain " . Yes I remember what happened the first time around (this is my second). Ameena broke my water and nothing happened. So they induced me and my cervix wasn't ready at all. Needless to say, after almost 29 hours the doc finally said, " Hmm...let's get you in for a C- section " . Duh! LOL! Thank God for that epidural though! But by then I was so extremely sick and had a fever of 105 from an infection that had set in. Poor hubby was traumatized. He's an Arab and in their culture they don't play an active role in the birthing process. But he's very open minded and so he was there for me. I have a wonderful hubby. Ok enough babbling.... congrats on your pregnancy!!
