Guest guest
congrats kim...and congrats on going cold turkey on the coke...although the w/d symptoms doin't sound very good...sorry you are going thru that. i quit my stuff slowly before my surgery and so i didn't have w/d symptoms...do you have hte book, what to expecting when your expecting? maybe you can get it from your library? i like that book. i'm sure you ahve tons going thru your mind, but lots of time to deal with all, no rush..take it easy and try not to stress too much. since this is our 2nd child (i saved everything from my 5 year old), we are lucky to have everything we need...boys clothes, looney tunes nursery theme stuff, crib, walker, etc...my sister nad brother both just had babies, so hoping to get some handme downs fromt hem as well, like snow suit, bouncer maybe, we'll see. there are also lots of websites with baby checklists...try looking around for stuff like that. good luck and relax! aka mom2ben99 (jennilee75@...) My hubby and you guys are the only ones I've told. I have an apt with my primary next Thursday. This will be my first pregnancy (and I always said I never would...but changed my mind about a year ago). Being so *non interested* for so long has me at a disadvantage. I have no idea what I should be doing. I'm already on a pre-nat, eating healthier, went cold turkey with the diet coke this weekend (still having major withdrawal headaches). I do believe I'd like to have a mid wife, and I have confirmed that my health insurance does cover this. I just have no idea how to find one. I guess I'll talk to my primary and see if she can offer me any suggestions. (My primary also does my GYN stuff). I also have been looking into adding supplimental life insurance for me and my hubby and adding a baby to my health insurance policy. Other than that, it's just silly stuff that is mulling around my brain....like a baby room theme, baby names, how to announce...it seems like there should be something else I should be doing...HELP.. Thank you folks! Guest guest
Thanks all for the words of encouragement. So far so good with the diet coke. I am truly a diet coke addict...so for me to go two whole days without, is amazing in itself...I am on day three, and the headaches seem to be subsiding....this is a good thing all the way around. I think I will use this as an opportunity to kick it all together...I was told by my RNY surgeon that I could start drinking (some diet soda) around six months, and I did (I'd gotten up to like 8 cans a day)...anywho, I swore I would stop if/when I got preggers...and low and behold I positive tested (4 times...hehe) this weekend. This is the least I can do...If my sister-in-law could kick ciggies, I can kick caffeine! I will definately check out " What to Expect when you are Expecting " . Thanks for the info!
