Hi everyone, I don't post on here much but need your input. I am 15

weeks pg and only 11 months post gastric bypass. I had an apt 2 weeks

ago with my surgeon ..and he told me my B12 level was to low and

needed to up my B12 to every day. The odd thing is that before the pg

I would forget to take it but after I found out that I was I took it

like clock work every week and was even taking a double strenght

sublinqual. Well, I never had a problem before I was pg. Well, for

the last two weeks I have been taking it every day 2400 mcq sl. Well,

the past three days I have had a terriable migraine, throwing up, and

very dizzy. Finally went to the ER last night and they gave me some

pain meds and IV fluids and some zofran...but told me I was really

anemic...my H & H was 28 and 9. I am wondering what will happen when I

get to the third trimester when anemia usually sets in. Have any of

you started out this low. I am wondering if I am going to have to

start injections of b12 and iron soon. I know I feel so tired and

weak. And am wondering if the headache and dizziness are related. Any

suggestions would be wonderful.

I am on iron infusions and have gone from 6.2 to 12.3 now (since April).

You may have to resort to that. At our hospital, if your hemoglobin is

less than 10, you can't get an epidural/spinal so do what you can NOW

so you wont have to go without super pain relief! I take SL b12

5,000mcg every other day and with my IV infusions, my B12 level was

greater than 2,000! lol Best wishes!!
