Guest guest
Hi friends, I am looking into helminths therapy for my child. So, I am on this list that discusses it very often. Helminths are parasitic worms in the gut, and it is usually limited to hookworms, whipworms, and one other one (can't think of it). Anyhow, to qualify as therapeutic, they have to meet certain criteria: they can't proliferate in the gut. It must be easily removed via traditional helminths removal treatments, and a few other criteria that I can't remember. I won't get into all of that here. Anyway. The link below is for information about a possible clinical trial for autism.Begin forwarded message:Date: September 14, 2012 12:23:45 PM EDTTo: helminthictherapy Subject: [helminthictherapy] TSO for Autism trial, New YorkReply-To: helminthictherapy (Advance notice: not yet recruiting)http://www.clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT01040221?term=trichuris+suis & lup_s=08%2F15%2F2012 & lup_d=
Guest guest
I am so glad to hear this finally. It has been done in the past with Ulcerative colitis and Crohn's patients on a small scale and a good response was observed. The clinical trial did not get further approval because supposedly these worms were grown in a nude pig (i.e. the pig had no immune system so to say). Most likely that got hammered by the ethical committee on this point (because you have to kill a pig to extract these worms and ova). I tried to recruit myself in such trial but they did not continue with it. BTW, those who keep a tab on autism research, is there any central website where they list all research groups with their research interests? I am noticing that more and more groups have started with non-conventional research (like this one) and would like to see what outcomes they get after a few years. Those who live near St. Louis, MO, there is a study going on with genetic markers, if anyone is interested. Same goes for Cleveland, OH./Noel Hi friends, I am looking into helminths therapy for my child. So, I am on this list that discusses it very often.
