Guest guest
I had a daughter PRE-WLS in 2000! WHen I delivered her I had gained a total of 17 pounds and was about 330 pounds!! I had NO pregnancy symptoms with my daughter at all..No m/s, sore boobies...NOTHING!! I had WLS in Nov 2003 and got pregnant about 7 1/2 months Post Op. I am now almost 18 weeks pregnant with TWINS and still haven't had much M/S. My boobies are a little sore and I am constantly tired and light headed...But as far as M/S its no different than with my daughter. I have lost 17 pounds so far this time (for a total of 150 since WLS) and at 215 pds.... Not sure if this answers your questions or not....I hope so! Guest guest
Carol, I am 6 months pregnant with my second child. I had my 2 and a half year old son before WLS and this one is after WLS. Before WLS: gained 26 pounds, was never sick, felt great until about the 6 month, didn't have any problems what so ever. After WLS: nauseous for the first three months(didn't throw up), feeling great, have only gained 4 pounds so far(I will have updated weight gain Wed. at my OB apt.), pregnancy is so much easier and better after WLS in my opinion. I have only had one bleeding episode(the placenta slightly pulled apart from the uterus, causing a little bleeding-- nothing major. This pregnancy is defiantely different than my first. I am very thankful to be having a great pregnancy without gaining a lot of weight. I just have a pooch on my stomach. I am not even wearing maternity clothes...they are too big, but who knows I might need the shirts at the very end, cause that is when you are the biggest with a lot of fluid and the baby is at it's biggest too. I hope that I could help you with my experiences and if you have anymore questions, feel free to ask away. Good Luck! D. Guest guest
Good to see you here. I always enjoy reading your posts in the Post Op group. Hmmmm... weight gain with my pre-WLS baby was about 40 lbs which I never lost, but I'm sure that was my fault and not because of pregnancy. I didn't experience any morning, afternoon, or evening sickness with either of my two pre-WLS pregnancies. Weight gain post-wls, carrying twins, was a total of 23 lbs which was gone (plus some) by the time I walked out of the hospital with my babies. I came home weighing less than I did when we first found out we were expecting, and I felt like I ate my way through my pregnancy. The first three months of pregnancy was a nauseating time. I was so sick and almost everything that went in, even water sometimes, eventually came back out. I ate soda crackers and raw spinich, drank 90% flat diet 7-Up, and sucked on sugar free Starlite mints. Not a healthy way to go, but it was all I could deal with. I can't be sure whether my morning (all day, every day) sickness was due to my new plumbing or because I was carrying twins. All I know is that almost over night (around 3.5 months), the sickess was gone. I never did experience that burst of energy and sexual desires that many say they had in the second trimester. Could possibly be because I was nearly eqivalent to a full-term pregnancy at 4 months. So what's your story, Carol? Are you TTC or are you already there? Guest guest
???? I love graphic....I'm kind of crunchy...cloth diapering..nursing etc. so nothing dealing with children..how their conceived, how they're fed, and the things that come out of babies bothers me! Is that not funny...but I do not want to hear about what comes out of my dh's body...what is it with men and wanting to talk about their bodily functions??/ (I am not male bashing here!). Thank you for your information, I know it is different for everyone, but I like to hear it from someone who has been through it.
