Guest guest
Robin, Everyone is different, as I'm sure you have heard before. I would say the best thing to do is watch your baby. Is he peeing and pooping? The potty diaper is most important as sometimes bf babies don't poop much. If you want to make ABSOLUTELY sure that your son is peeing and are using disposable diapers you can put in a Kleenex in the diaper to help show you when he has pottied. Also, does he look hydrated and alert? When he is awake do his eyes look moist and does he look around? His mouth moist? Check his soft spot, is it sunk in alot or just a little? If it is only a little that is normal, but if it is alot it may be a sign that he is dehydrated. Keep in mind that bf babies don't gain as quickly as ff babies. Good luck!!! Breastmilk question???? help please? Hi..I am breastfeeding my newborn, and I was concerned about my milk..since wls...if I am lacking protein, iron, calcium, ect? would my milk lack that too?? or does your body make it and take it from you? My baby is very tiny 5lbs 13 oz..and I am just concerned that maybe my milk will keep him from gaining...anyone know anything about this? please let me know... worrywart... Guest guest
As long as the baby is gaining at his well check visits there shouldn't be a problem, but you have to remember to eat properly and drink plenty of water. If you don't get plenty in then your body can only take so much from you. Yes, it is possible to nurse, but don't worry if you may have to supplement with formula.
