I went and saw the OB doc yesterday. everything is fine with me. this

was my real first visit, and first time officially meeting him. I had

the pap, and exam, and all of the above- he really poked at me for

this visit. but he was reassuring, letting me know I will be

concidered a " high risk " pregnancy- but only because of the gastric

bypass and special " needs " and extra testing... still it worries me a

lil' to be checked on the paper, high risk. I was wondering if any

other of you girls, are concidered high risk with your OB.

also, my husband went with me (which he complained the whole time,

because the doc was running about an hour late) and he is not allowed

to go with me anymore! I was about to kick him out of the room!!

anyways, it was all worth it when we got to hear the baby's

heartbeat... i was surprised to hear it this early, and it was

faint... but we cracked the code and made it out... that was pretty

cool!

he also told me i have a very short cervix? but i had no pre-term

labor with my first, so he said that was the ultimate test... and it

should be ok...

well, thats my story and my 10 week dr.'s visit story.

Hi - Congrats on the good news and I am glad that everything is going

well.

My doctor specifically told me that I was not considered high risk just on the

fact that I had gastric bypass. I waited the time period I was supposed to

before conceiving and have no other conditions. If I were to have diabetes or

high blood pressure or any other conditions then they would classify me

differently.

I guess each doctor is different. Good Luck with everything
