Seen the doctor today.....

I seen the doctor today for my 32 week check up. I have gained 4 more

pounds..to make a grand total of 16 pounds gained. I am having a hard

time with the numbers. Everyone has reassured me that this is a big

growth time for baby and that I am still extremely normal in my

weight gain.

Lab work was all normal as well. I am not anemic and all of my lab

levels were within normal range. My BP was 120/80 today. I took it

myself the other day and it was 113/68..so still very normal.

Baby's heartbeat is in the 130-140 range. His head is down and the

doctor confirmed that it is his butt that he keeps rolling from 1

side to the other at the top of my rib cage area. This would explain

why some days he pushes on the right and some days on the left. He

loves to get his little feet under my ribs and push. OUCH!

She said that she won't start to check me vaginally until 39 weeks.

She said " that is if you haven't had him by then " . I guess she is

still thinking I will have him before my due date. My next

appointment is on 11/23. I am every 2 weeks now and then after 12/9

(36 week US appt) I will be every week.

We also talked about the child birth classes (again). She wants me to

pre register with the hospital so that even if I dont take the

classes I can check out the videos they would show me at the class.

She told me to take the tour (it's free) and to talk to the lactation

nurses. She thought that the fact that I am leaning towards not

taking the class was fine and that we would be ok either way. She did

suggest that I make out my call trees for if I start labor and pick a

coach. Someone that will be by my side the whole time. I agreed that

it was time to do this.

We talked about BH contractions and the difference. I told her that I

have had some real intense BH's. She said that if they continue and

are 10 minutes or less apart for a full hour I am to call and get

myself to the hospital.

So I guess I am really close. I am getting scared, but really

excited. My baby shower is Thursday and I cant wait to see what I get

and then be able to narrow down what is left. My uncle gave me great

advice on my mother. He said that she is trying to do exactly like

she did when my sister had my niece. She is battling me over whos

baby this is.lol. He said to get her into a discussion about diapers

and what ever she thinks is the best, choose exactly the opposite. He

said this would force her to buy diapers and then I would never have

too. I know that he is right on this. lol.

As for my male " friend " . I am thinking that he is more sincere than

anything. I think that he is really interested in me and my baby. He

is trying to make himself more available for " us time " . I think this

is good. But I am also going to proceed very carefully. I dont want

to get hurt again or make a bad judgement again.

I guess that is it for now.

congrats on a good appt today shalonda. that's funny what your uncle said about

your mom, but obviously you know it's true...good luck with everything.
