Guest guest
Hi, My name is Crystal. I am currently 17 weeks 3 days pregnant. I was 8 months post op when I got pregnant. It was VERY unplanned and unexpected being as we had already decided for medical reasons not to have anymore children and I had an appt already scheduled in Dec to have my Tubes Tied!!! I cried for 3 days after finding out I was pregnant. I went from 365 pounds to 230 pounds and was not sure about gaining weight again..I had worked so hard to loose it. Finally after going to the dr and confirming the pregnancy a wave of excitement hit me and from that moment until my first u/s I didnt think twice about the weight gain....At my first u/s appt (which was to determine due date) I found out I was 10 weeks pregnant with TWINS!!! INSTANTLY the weight gain thought hit me again...I cried for another 2 days...Then I remember exactly what was happening to me and how much of a miracle it was....I kicked myself for feeling that way but got past it. Now I am extremely happy about the TWINS and cant wait till they get here. However, the fact that I have gained no weight (actually still loosing as of last appt) could be the reason why the weight thing no longer bothers me...But I know that the scales are soon going to start going UP UP UP UP!! But I am prepared for that now!! At my last Ob appt which was 3 1/2 weeks ago I was down to 215 I had lost a total of 17 pounds since finding out I was pregnant. I dont have a scale at home but I am pretty sure I have gained about 4 pounds this month...We will see Tuesday!! Good Luck and this is a GREAT group...Lots of support!!! Guest guest
Hi Ali, I got preggo at 9 mos post op, though it was planned. We had just gotten the okay from my surgeon to start trying and miraculously got pregnant on the first try after yrs of preop infertility. I had alot of anxiety about weight gain. It was very hard to see the numbers go up on the scale, but you know...eventually it gets easier to wrap your head around and see the " big picture " - having a healthy baby. Its hard when you don't actually LOOK pregnant either - I was about 10-15 lb from goal when I got prego and up until about 1 month or so ago, people were telling me I didn't look pregnant or I looked barely pregnant. Its easier when you start showing cuz then you actually feel pregnant too. Like you, I found out VERY early that I was pregnant...like the 34th day of my cycle when I wasn't even " technically " late (my cycles were ranging from 20-40 days)...For me, the first half of the pregnancy just DRAGGED...But the last two months have sped up to warp speed and I can't believe next week I will finally hold my little girl (I am being induced)... You will feel like this is more real when you have your sonogram and see that little heart beating. If you are over 6-7 weeks, you could have one and see the heart beating...That might make it better for you than waiting til 12 weeks. Is that an option for you? Also hearing the heart on the doppler at the Dr's office is a real blessing (usually about 12 weeks)...Baby movement takes longer, but I tell you, it is the greatest most amazing feeling in the whole world. My little one kicks non stop and I know I will miss that feeling when she is born... Just take things one day at a time, Ali....Perhaps getting a book about pregnancy that goes week by week and tells you where your baby is at right now will help make it more concrete for you... All the best, Z 36wks 2 days. EDD Nov 10...but more like Oct 20...Yippee!!! > I want the baby, I just feel guilty because I am not excited yet. I am sure > that when I feel it kick for the first time or find out what the sex is then > I will become more excited. I just wish that I was excited now.
