Guest guest
, I would refuse to do the 3 hr test. The glucose tolerance tests are just not accurate for RNY'ers and of course, the dumping is not good for you or your little one... I needed a gluc tol test about four yrs ago for symptoms of hypoglycemia. My blood sugar totally crashed after the 2 hr and I felt just awful. Now that I am pregnant, I told my OB about this and she agreed to let me do a fasting blood sugar and a two hr after eating blood sugar. I did this on two days in a row to get good readings, and all was well - I didn't crash. I would encourage you strongly to get them to do this for you. Have them call your surgeons office if they are being pigheaded. All the best to you! 34 weeks today! > Man...I tried explaining that the one-hour gluclose screening wasn't > going to be a breeze but the doc's 'girls' didn't believe me. > I didn't get too sick, just a little queezy, but nonetheless...it > came back extremely high.
