Guest guest
My son had this when he was a young infant. The doc told me the same thing and said that young newborns have very sensitive skin, his went away in about a week. D. Guest guest
My 7-week-old has the same problems. When I took him to the pediatrician he told me that newborns have the most sensitive skin and not to worry about it. It will correct itself over time. He said not to put anything extra on it, especially his face. You are supposed to only wash their face with water, nothing else (according to my pediatrician and the books I have read). Mine also had it on his chest and shoulder areas. The doctor said that baby lotion was fine to use on the body and would not make it better or worse. It seems almost like mine has the rash one day and the next it is gone, only to be back about later that night. It is bizarre....this is my 4th child and I don't remember any of this from before.
