Guest guest
Hi everyone, I did some blood work for my kid which took at least three pricks on two different visits. We are trying to figure out what is the cause of pans. I have an appointment with my dan on thursday and I want to be prepared to discuss the management. Most of the results are negative according to the lab corp reference range but I believe that those ranges are for adults. I posted the message on pandas autism forum but still waiting for response. I posting here too hoping that someone will be able to help me. Here are the results: Mycoplasma IGG - 165 (as per lab 100-320 is indeterminate) Mycoplasma IGM - <770 (<770 is considered negative as per lab) HNK1 (CD57) panel - 7.9% ref range(2.0-17.0) Absolute CD8-CD57+lymphs - 300 reference range(60-360) Lyme western blot: IgG p41 antibody present - the rest are negative IgM are all negative HHV6 IgG antibodies 3.25 (>0.99 is considered positive) EBV IGG <0.2 (>1.0 positive) EBV IGM <0.2 (>1.0 positive) CMV IgM <0.9 (>1.0 positive) CMV IgG 10.9 (>1.0 positive) HSV I IgG >0.91 (>1.09 positive) HSV II IgG <0.91 (>1.09 positive) Ammonia - 85 Lactic acid - 8.8 Creatine kinase - 117 Lymphocytes - 61 Neutrophils - 27 Absolute neutrophil count is normal but lymphocyte count is high which points towards viral infection. I was concerned about his liver enzymes but they are in the normal range and albumin and platelets are fine too. I also checked his amino acid profile and acylcarnitine profile but the result is long and didn't want to make the message too long. If anyone can help me with the amino acid and acylcarnitine profile then please let me know and I can give the details in another message. I am so sorry I am bombarding everyone with so many labs but after entering this biomed world, I don't trust the reference range of regular labs. I will really appreciate any help that I can get. Guest guest
is - Well, most of it looks really good. The CMV titer is REALLY high. And, even though it is IgG, that is so high i wouldn't ignore it. HV6 also high, it looks like his issues may be more viral than bacterial. The 41 on the western blot cold also be explained by the viruses, but I wouldn't assume that. Both my kids had negative western blots through Labcorp and then my one son was tested through another lab that tested more bands and he came back with a very lyme-specific band. Igenex testing confirmed the positive. Same with his twin. I had a 41 on two tests and one other showed a 39, which is lyme-specific.So, I'd see if your doc is willing to treat the viruses and also retest through Igenex for lyme. And, if he'll also test for immune function ( IgG, IgM), that would also be great. Wish I knew about the amino acid profits, etc but I really know nothing about those. So glad you are finally beginning to get some direction and answers. Ruth Hi everyone, I did some blood work for my kid which took at least three pricks on two different visits. Guest guest
Thank u so much Ruth! My dan already wanted to start valtrex last month but there was so much going on with my kid that I wanted to start where things were a little clearer. I wanted to start custom probiotics first as my son seemed to have yeast overgrowth and he doesn't tolerate antifungals well. I thank all of the parents on this forum who recommended custom probiotics as I saw the results right away. Now I have the baseline results and I already know that he didn't have any negatives from custom probiotics, I think I am ready to give antivirals a try. I just don't know what would be the right way to start though since my son is already on diflucan and vancomycin two weeks on 1 week off. I read on Cheryl's blog and several times here that one should not start both at the same time but what if a kid is already on diflucan? I actually stopped the zithromax prophylaxis two weeks ago as I felt that I was getting more yeast issues from it. So far it has been ok but of course I am nervous. I am pretty sure that my son's pans is related to viruses. I am keeping a close eye on him though. Let us see what my dan has to say about the whole thing. Thanks again for your help. is > > > Hi everyone, > > > > I did some blood work for my kid which took at least three pricks on two different visits.
