Guest guest
Kristeen - If you're eating well, and getting in your vitamins, I would think you and teh baby are fine. I was still about 50 lbs. overweight with my first pregnancy, and didn't gain one pound throughout. My OB, GP, Surgeon & Dietician were all fine with it. I had a baby girl (Caroline) at 38 weeks weighing 7 lbs 15 oz., so it seems she got what she needed from me. My sister was probaby 50 pounds overweight when she had both her kids, and she ended up losing almost 20 pounds each time (horrible morning sickness throughout). Babies were fine -- no problems. I had someone at work who was also pregnant (and overweight), and kept telling me that I HAD to gain 25 - 40 pounds -- WRONG!!! All the Dr.'s recommended 15-20 pounds, but again -- were not concerned that I didn't gain at all. I would make sure that you have labs done periodially -- I think we're more likely to be deficient in some areas (i.e. -- iron, B- 12), that we need to keep an eye on. Best wishes!
