Guest guest
Diane: congratulations on your beautiful girl. Best of luck. Please keep up your prayers for me. I went to my OB on monday for the 1st appointment for pregnancy. Well It turns out I'm exactly 6 weeks and 1 day pregnant. During the sono on monday I was only 5 weeks 5 days so there was no heartbeat yet! I have to go back in two weeks for another sono. He said everything looks fine right now. Let me back track just a little. I had a miscarriage back in June so you can tell I'm really scared right now. I already have two boys ages 13 and 7. I really wasn't planning to have another kid -- I was suppose to have plastic surgery to get rid of my excess skin back in June -- during the pre-testing I was told I was pregnant, but I lost the baby 3 weeks later. Since I lost the baby I realized how much I really wanted another one. So my husband and I tried and wammo I got pregnant within 2 months. I'll let everyone know what happens on October 4th. Take care, Dawn - New York RNY 11/25/00 starting weight 335 down to 175 my true weight right now is 205.
Guest guest
Diane - you made me cry! I'm so excited for you. Congratulations. Wishing everyone good health and lots of fun experiences!~ Sandy -- My little girl is here Well it has been one hell of a week for me - so many ups and downs but the end results are a beautiful littlt girl that is absolutly perfect. Sienna Rose was born by emergency c- section at 2:46 pm Saturday September 18th. She weighed a tiny 5lbs 11oz at 40+ weeks gestation and was 19 " long. You can view her hospital pic. at the following address. She was soo tired that she wouldnt wake up for any thing. Th little red chin comes from trying to learn to breast feed and is already almost healed. www.growingfamily.com/webnursery/babypage_view.asp?URLID=4B9V2Q6S0U Here is how she came into this world.....(this part is long if you choose to continue to read it) I have been married for 18 years and have not even been able to concieve since the 80's (which resulted in 3 miscarriages) so to me she is truely a miracle. Although I feared a miscarriage with this pregnancy it was textbook perfect. Very little nausea moderate- fatigue in the first trimester. The worse symptom was constipation in the first trimester(and that was pretty bad but got resolved) Everything was perfect until a couple of weeks ago when the growth ultrasound showed an amnionic fluid level of 5(it had been ok before that) I was sent home for labor day weekend on rest and the fluid came up to a 7. I was able to stay home from work on rest to keep the levels up - which thrilled me. I had had a couple of days with semi regular contractions that fizzled out and stoped. So by the next weeks apt I was 39weeks 5 days pregnant. My blood pressure was way up for the first time ever so thet kept me in the hosp. overnight for observation on the baby monitor doing the 24 hour urine test to test for the beginning of pre eclampsia. Every thing seemes still ok even though my pressure was erratic going from 103 over 52 to 174 over 124 without appearent reason. They allowed me to go home on bed rest last wednesday until Friday where they would check me out again. They were trying not to have to induce me because the state of my uterus was so unready - it was so high that 2 people couldnt even find it because their hands were not long enough and it was thick and tight - not ready at all. They feared That if they tried to induce I would go into labor and still not be able to deliver and I would have to have a c- section. They wanted to avoid a c- section because I have the MTHFR heterozygos gene and could have more complications with clotting or stroke. Well when I went in friday they kept me because the baby seemed to be effected by my still erratic blood pressure. They started the induction at about 4pm but warned me that it may not be until Sunday that I deliver because my body is so unready for this. At around midnight i was having contractions that were effecting the baby's heart rate so they gave me something to stop the effect of the cydotec(spelling?) that they used to get things started. That helped( Still no dialation)the baby 's heart return to normal. Around 4 am the drug that made things stop for awhile wore off and I was having pretty strong contractions and was dialated at a 1 so they let it continue - the babys heart rate seemed to tollerate the labor ok at this point. By 6 am the contractions were strong and some only 30 sec apart - some 2 min. I was dialated to a 3+ at that point so they broke my water to get things moving faster. I was in so much pain but the anesthesiologist was in a c-section at the time and it would be awhile - they gave me an injection of something to take the edge off which felt no stronger than tylenol to me. They put so mant monitors in me vaginaly that I must have looked like a squid. They were flushing me with saline because there was so much meconinum in the water when they broke it looked like sewage. I had a fetal pulse ox monitor heart rate monitor and contraction monitor all internally. The contractions were so strong at this point that they were off the chart and still no futher dialation. Finally I got the epidural and was able to relax myself( the whole time my BP continued to be erratic) As the contractions increased the baby heart rate continued to decelerate and recover more and more slowly so they tried to stop labor again. It was not in time though because by 2:30pm her heart rate went down to 25 (before all of this it was averaging in the 125's - 145's) and was not comming back up. they felt that the cord was being compressed and no matter what position they moved me in it did not help enough. Suddenly I was signing papers for an emergency c-section and being unhooked from all of the monitors so they could move me to the OR. I couldn't find my husband because they pulled him out to get into scrubs so he could be with me but I had no idea because things were moving so fast. Going down the hall I started to cry because all I could think about was I came this far and I just couldn't go home with out my baby. Then I thought what if I die and she dosn't have a mother? Things just moved so fast I didnt have time to process it. 5 min. after I was in the OR I felt the pressure of them pulling her out and heard the most beautiful little squeek and I knew she was alive and well. My husband video taped them cleaning her and weighing her I cried and cried because I was so happy. She is so small but that is typical of my family anyway - but she is very strong and alert. She even picked up the ink card they set next to her when they were doing the foot prints and she wavev it around. Not even 3 min. old and already into something Well that is our story if you stayed with us this long. I am tired but doing well and she is wonderful - she has regained all but 1 oz of her birth weight at 5 days old so I'd say we will be just fine - Diane Children are a blessing, and a gift from the Lord. -Psalm 127:
