As I look forward to having a baby soon, I know that I

am not revealing the child's name to family prior to

the birth. I don't care what they feel about it.

They got to name their children, why shouldn't I?

I personally can't stand nicknames, so I am thinking

of crossing one of my favorites off the list, because

otherwise I will spend my life correcting people who

will insist upon calling my baby what THEY think is

his/her name, not what I chose for them.

My husband's nickname chosen by his family really

sucks, but they don't even know who I am talking about

when I don't use it. And I refuse to use it.

Everyone will have an opinion on what you name your

baby. You and your husband are the only opinions that

count. Don't discuss the names with your

MIL/Mother/etc.
