Guest guest
First let me say what a wonderful group of ladies you are! The support is overwhelming here and that is great. Since I am new, I will be calling on lots of you for answers to my paranoid and absolutely insane questions........ha. ha. I live in sunny Alabama and had a lap RNY on 7/30/02. My heaviest weight was 267 and I dropped down to 162 pounds in about eight months, so that is a total of 105 pounds lost by me. I never thought I could feel so good about myself again. While I was heavy, I went through two IVF treatments that failed (I honestly believe it was because I was obese--I wasn't even having my periods at that time). My tubes were tied in 1992 after the birth of my son and we considered a reversal, but I was too " fat " for the surgical instruments. Well, after the failed IVF's, I decided that the only healthy way to have a child was to lose weight, get my periods back to normal and have my tubes untied. So, I had the WLS in Jul. 2002 and my tubes untied in Jan. 2004. After seven months of TTC, I am finally pregnant. At my first prenatal visit, my OB/GYN suggested that I see a nutritionist and she surmised that I would probably gain a total of 15-18 pounds. I am officially ten weeks pregnant and very miserable with morning sickness. I have been prescribed chewable prenatal vitamins that are only as big as a peanut...they are very tolerable. The doctor also suggested that I eat a children's chewable vitamin in addition to what she prescribed. She was very honest about there not being very much data out there about pregnancy after WLS and I was only the second of all of her patients to be in this particular situation (mind you this is a large, urban city with the medical field predominant). Anyway, that is my introduction and I look forward to gossiping with you all!!!!! in Alabama WLS 7/30/02 267/162pg EDD 05/05/
