Guest guest
Welcome, ! And congratulations on both your weight loss and the pregnancy!! You and I could be twins, there are so many similarities in our stories. I weighed almost exactly the same as you did the day of surgery. Prior to this, I had many fertility treatments as well - I didn't even ovulate with the highest dose of clomid at double the length of time (10 days of the cycle)...I had to take progesterone just to get a period every few months for about two yrs. It was a heartbreaking time for us... I had my WLS in May 2003 and again, you and I did very much the same weight wise in similar length of time. I lost 105 lb in 8 months as well. My surgeon said we could start trying to concieve after 9-12 mos post op. The funny thing is, I started getting periods every month starting two weeks post op. My Dr warned me that WLS will cause me to become " hyperfertile " no matter what my fertility status was preop...It was hilarious having to use condoms for nine mos post op considering my history, but we did...After the WLS, I would have cycles every month, lasting 20-40 days, so it was hard to figure out when exactly I ovulated...but I was ovulating... We were cleared to start trying in Feb of this yr...and miracle on miracle...We concieved on the FIRST TRY....I am right now 34.5 weeks pregnant with our first baby, a little girl...at the tender young age of 35yrs old...lol. Anyway, ....just wanted to say hi, welcome and congrats. I wish you nothing but the best in your pregnancy. You have gone through alot to get here - IVF, tubal reversal, WLS - and I hope for very smooth sailing for you with this pregnancy.
