Guest guest
pre WLS w/ my firstborn, I weighed over 300#. Pregnancy was a breeze. I labored for 20hours before the *decided* he was too big to descend naturally, so I was cut. My 2nd son, post WLS, was much smaller @ around 6# and the OB asked me if I wanted to try VBAC and I thought about it for a split second and said, " Uh, no!! " This is a highly individualized and personalized area and no one can make the decusion for you. Just know that if I have 10 more pregnancies, I will most definitely behaving 10- more c-sections!! Guest guest
I don't think my post was stating that a c-section was the ONLY way to have a baby? I think I posted that it is the ONLY way " I " will ever have a baby. That was my point. The natural, vaginal, c-section, VBAC debate will continue til the end of time. I'm here as a member with my OWN personal experiences and my OWN opinions, not to discuss options. I'm not on the clock or getting paid in here. Feel free to discuss anyone their options, but my license prohibits me from " practicing medicine without a license. " \ Sheila in reponse to>>>>>-------------------->>>Amen! Very personal decision, but women have the right to know their options. That was my point.
Guest guest
lol Carol! I just got back online to make certain my message wasn't taken the wrong way. I have a 10 yr old screaming he should be allowed to stay up til 11, a 2 yr old who has just smashed his bannana all over his bed, head, clothes and stufed animals, a husband who " wants vanilla ice cream on his peach cobbler " and I may have misread your post. lol All I know is babies come out of a woman's uterus one or two ways - through the uterus or thru the vagina. I have never experienced the vaginal kind, and would take 10 c-sections before ONE abscessed tooth or ANOTHER open RNY. That's all I can speak from, is my experiences. I didn't mean to sound harsh, when in reality my frustration is with the TESTOSTERONE in the house..... I need more females! Actually, I bought a female wiener dog just to be able to say there were 2 females in the house and you know what? she hated me!! She rubbed and licked around on my husband and sons and would growl at me. The ungrateful mutt! I sold her! lol sorry if I sounded defensive! Guest guest
Hi Just my 2 cents here. I just attempted a VBAC last week (Oct. 9) and there are definitely pros and cons to natural birth!! YIKES! I wanted to know what laboring felt like and I got a good dose of it. LOL! Towards the end we ended up doing the c-section because baby's heartbeat had fallen and she was in distress. Thank God all came out ok. And actually - recovery from this c-section versus my first one is a lot easier. Guess I'm better at it now or something.hehe.. Anyway - I'm glad I got to experience labor but I wasn't prepared for the aches in my muscles the next day or the sore butt I have from straining during the birth. LOL! Next time I have to have a c-section regardless but at least I experienced the real thing.
