Guest guest
i had a csection in 2000 with my daughter. I weighed over 300 pds and it was HORRIBLE. They took the staples out too early and my incision split open. and with the extra weight laying on the incision i was in PURE pain.... HOWEVER, I am having a csection again with the twins. My dr said I could try VBAC but opted for the csection since it has been less than a year since my RNY and since i had a csection already. I didnt like the risks involved in a vbac and heard too many horror stories..Hopefully being 100 pds lighter will be a BIG help!! Good Luck, Crystal Lap RNy 11/18/03 EDD 3/22/05 ?/? Guest guest
I have had 2 c-sections. First one in 1997 at 318 lbs and the second in 2000 at 350. The first one was the most unbelievable pain ever! The second one was much better. They put a drain on my incision the first 3 days after and it really helped with healing, infection, etc... Being 150 lbs lighter this time, hopefully will make things even better. I don't have an option of VBAC b/c my kids are usually over 10 lbs, but I would have liked to experience normal labor just once. Its not really the c-section that I get nervous about, its the spinal. Last time they " accidentally " used the wrong size needle, that with really having a hard time finding my backbone, made it awful. Guest guest
I recently wrote a response (Re: Lord of the Dance) with reason why I had and will have another csection. That's just my personal experience. I was roughly 240# with my son, and 150# with this one. I didn't have ANY problems with my csection, was up and HAPPY to walk the halls two hours after delivery.... With son: gained 22# and lost 26# when leaving the hospital. This son: in 35th wk and have gained 19#. My scarline is pencil thin, no problems with healing, and aside from being numb for several months - can't even tell I was ever cut open. (I was on Petocin for three 12-hr days and had incredibly painful back-labor the entire time so I was dying to get on my feet and go home.)
