Guest guest
I've been a member of this group for a few weeks but this is my first post. I had RNY in August 2002 and I am now 13 weeks pregnant. But the most surprising thing is that I am 46 and had been told that I would never be able to conceive again after a stillbirth in 1996. Take my word, WLS has created many miracles for me. I am a grandmother (thanks to my 23 year old son) and will soon have a child younger than my granddaughter. We believe that this child is a miracle and that God has very special plans for him or her. I have read most of the last 300 posts and see all kinds of questions and fears. Here's a few things that I have dealt with already. The gestational diabetes test. There are options. Don't let your doctor bully you. If you can tolerate jelly beans they are one option to the liquid stuff that makes us so sick. If you can't do the jelly beans make them do the fasting test. Bleeding...I ble at 11 weeks and of course thought the worst. Everything was fine and my baby is healthy. Pain. After three pregnancies I feel safe in saying that pain is not part of pregnancy. Remember that sometimes we have to swap doctors (I'm on my third) until we find the perfect one for us. Someone who listens to us (especially since we have the added concern of WLS)and treats us like a person. They work for us. Don't settle. That's all for this first post. Good luck everyone and thanks for being here.
