Guest guest
My understanding is that most women need to take additional iron (WLS or not) in the 3rd trimester. I was taking the SlowFe, but the type of iron that it contains is not absorbed well (per ObesityHelp.com) in our pouches. So I went to BariatricAdvantage.com and ordered chewable iron tablets. I started taking them around 12 weeks (now 25), 30mg/day. I just ordered more in case I need to double them for the 3rd trimester. As for b12, I take sublingual B12/B6/Folic Acid from TraderJoes. It's like 16,667 times the daily recommended dose of b12, 100% FDA of b6, and 800 mcg of Folic Acid. My labs come back with my B12 in the normal range, so I take it daily without fail, and have been since before conception. I am also not on prenatals. I take a chewable Centrum multi-vitamin daily and my OB is fine with it. I am 3 1/2 years out from RNY. open RNY 4/01 edd with #1 on 2/4/
