vitamins and nutrition

Good morning, I am new to this group. I am 3 years post op and 3

months pregnant. I am seeking advice on vitamins besides the

prenatals that I am taking and my monthly b-12. I want to make sure

that I have a healthy baby. Any nutrition tips are also welcome.

Thanx in advanced for your advice and comments

> thanks for writing back . So, you do not take prenatals? How are you

feeling? I take b-12 shots and a prenatal, I wonder what else I would need. So

far blood work os great.

thanks for the info

Anita - I just got back from my monthly checkup at the midwife. I'm 5 months

pregnant and over a year 1/2 post op. This was the first time that my blood

work came back with low levels. Before pregnancy, I was taking prenatals and

now they don't seem to be doing the job. I'd wait till you have blood work done

and they will tell you where your deficiences are. I'm now going to take 2

trinsicon and a B12 supplement (the kind that disolves under the tongue) daily.

It was an interesting consultation, but I should be well covered now. So, no

more prenatals. Check with your doctor.

Good Luck! And congrats on the pregnancy. I'm just loving it!!

no i don't take prenatals, just the flintstone vitamins and other supplements(i

do have chewable prenatals, but they are nasty and i'd rather take the

flintstones...they are quivelant to one prenatal). i try to eat and keep down

what i can and drink lots of water...i became dehydrated and got a kidney and

bladder infection a couple months ago and don't want to go thru that

again...water is very important! i'm feeling a lot better now in my 2nd

trimester! i was sick as a dog for months. i have lots of energy now and have

bad days still but mostly they are good now. i haven't been low in b vitamin or

much, i was low on some stuff, but it was mostly becasue i wasn't taking my

vitamins and keeping anything down...i'm much better now. if your blood work

is good, don't worry about adding anything to your supplements...
