Guest guest
Has anyone had a positive Ana before? My son has had this test repeated and it's positive both times. What can it be ? What can it affect? Ty
Guest guest
I think it is an indicator of autoimmunity. Often used to diagnose lupus. Guest guest
I'm not sure . But could that be possible if you get a positive Ana? And how can you treat that? Is it make things worse? Is it deadly ? Sent from my iPhone I think it is an indicator of autoimmunity. Often used to diagnose lupus. Guest guest
I don't know enough about it. Is your doctor giving you no guidance? I know that Lyme and other infections can absolutely cause autoimmune conditions. But I don't know the relevance of the test for autoimmune conditions other than lupus. Here is a quick blurb on infections and autoimmunity. I would bring this info to your doc and see what he thinks. I just know that often people get diagnosed with conditions like ms, lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, etc and it is really Lyme or another infection. http://www.immed.org/illness/autoimmune_illness_research.htmlWishing you the best...RuthSent from my iPhone I'm not sure . Guest guest
Could be other things, too. I myself tested with very high ana numbers, twice, and I freaked out b/c I thought I had lupus. Went to a rheumatologist b/c my regular holistic doc couldn't figure the source of the problem. Turns out I didn't have lupus, I had another autoimmune disorder called Sjogrens (dry eye, dry mouth). I'm not sure . But could that be possible if you get a positive Ana? And how can you treat that? Is it make things worse? Is it deadly ?
