Guest guest
I am 20 weeks pregnant with second child. I had my 2 and a half year old son pre WLS, so this is my second pregnancy AFTER WLS(surgery was April 18, 2003). I am 5 months and I have only gained 4 pounds so far. I concentrate on lots of protein.....chicken, shrimp, fish, etc. As far as veggies, I eat steamed carrots & broccoli. As snacks, I eat a protein bar and if you don't like protein bars, then try a low carb bar. I also will drink half of a Adkins protein drink (vanilla is so good, it taste like a vanilla milkshake). You just have to experience with foods that are healthy for you. Your appetite can and will after a year want to increase, that is when you make sure you keep your brain trained that when you eat your eating that small portion that we were taught and that you keep it that way....Yes even thru pregnancy. If you have to eat more snacks throughout the day, then do so, just make sure it is healthy and HIGH in PROTEIN, because that protein will build you metabolism up to burn fat, which builds muscle. I hope that I could be of some help to you and I wish you the best of luck with your pregnancy. Keep me posted. D.
